Back soon!

Hey guys, I'll be back sometime soon with new posts, I've just been down with the flu (and other various germs) for a few weeks, and I'm playing catch-up with work that I've been leaving due to my spending long hours under my blanket.

Peace-offering: Tracks from the new (overdue) Asobi Seksu EP, Mary & Me. Needless to say, I'm excited by the forthcoming album release!

Never Mind the Absence...

Well after the longest break this blog has ever seen, I'm going to pretend that it didn't happen. In fact, to reinforce my mental and physical absence from here, I've just taken a three hour break between the last sentence and this one to watch my flatmates play pool, eat soup and go to the chemist, even though they are jobs which could've waited a bit. Anyway, that's not the point, the point is. Clothes. More specifically, clothes from Paola Ivana Suhonen's label Ivana Helsinki, which she describes as a Finnish art brand that represents a new Northern style called "Fennofolk" - a bit like a mixture of Scandi-Slavic environments apparently.
However, rather than producing dull collections of sober chunky white/grey knitwear directly inspired by the white landscape, her collection "Birdring" consists of printed dresses, filmy-thin knits and varied silhouettes which seem to be more the product of endless winters spent dreaming about other places.
