Love, Cholera and Marquez.

Did anyone know that a film of Love in the Time of Cholera has been made for release this year? Gabriel Garcia Marquez is one of my favourite authors, and Love in the Time... is one of my favourite novels, so I'm praying this is going to be a brilliant interpretation. I'm hopeful because the cast list looks pretty solid; Javier Bardem, Catalina Sandino Moreno (Maria Full of Grace)and John Leguizamo is playing Lorenzo Daza. I'm not so sure about Benjamin Bratt in the role of Dr. Juvenal Urbino because I've always seen him as a pretty shallow sort of actor who consistently plays the same role of "good-looking young detective," but time will tell and I'm still not sure I can wait until next year to see it.
And if you haven't read the book, I highly recommend it. It's this amazing, unique love story about the unrequited love between Florentino Arizia and Fermina Daza, which spans the decades, and the aging love between Fermina Daza and her husband, Juvenal Urbino. I guess it's one of those books that is so compelling just because there are so many parts that you can relate to, regardless of age or gender...that's the worst book summary ever, but you can 'Amazon' it yourself.

Future classics.
Keira Knightley in Atonement? No thanks, I'd rather watch the Prada-clad Deunan Kenute in a Japanese anime film. Miuccia Prada was so impressed with movie Appleseed in 2004, that she offered to design 2 couture pieces for the heroine in the sequel Appleseed: Ex-machina. It looks like Miuccia is looking to the future as this is the first time she has designed costumes for a movie. Are we looking to a future where animated characters will be better-dressed than people in real life? Two things are for sure, Prada clothes are going to get more action than they ever have before, while fans of the movie will be forking out a lot of cash to play dress-up.
